Born in the Chicago region on October 15, 1927, Goedert attended the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Mundelein, a northern suburb of Chicago, for seminary. In 1952, he received his priesthood ordination and traveled to Rome to study canon law.
Travis Dopp, the little guitarist for Brown Bike, regrettably passed away after a three-year battle with cancer. The news was released by the band in the following statement:
It’s with heavy hearts that we share the unbearable news that our brother Travis John Dopp passed away yesterday after his long battle with cancer.
If you were fortunate enough to have known Trav, you are aware of his incredible, boundless energy and how his music and the people he loved will carry on his memory. He was a raw, vulnerable, forceful force of nature, and in any given room, he was always the funniest, warmest, and most magnetic person. He encouraged us to take our band to new heights.
His stories could light up a room and make us laugh till we cried. Being by his side felt superpower-like, whether we were on stage or in real life. As if you could lead with your fist in the air and your heart on your sleeve, showing up just as you are, without apology or reservation.
The brotherhood of SBB began back in kindergarten when Mike and Trav first met and became best friends. Since then, our entire lives have been inextricably linked, and through this band our family has grown in ways we couldn’t have ever imagined. We’re so thankful to have shared this lifetime with our beautiful brother Travis and will carry his presence in us forever.
Through his music, Trav wanted to lay bare every part of his being to connect with you all, and to hopefully make us all feel less alone.
