Police responded to a burglary call at the Los Angeles childhood home of singer Billie Eilish on Thursday night, January 5, leading to the arrest of a suspect.
Authorities arrived at the Highland Park area following a report of a man in dark clothing jumping over a fence, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The suspect was reportedly wearing all-black clothing and a black mask.
It remains unclear whether anything was taken or if Billie, aged 21, or anyone else was present at the home during the incident.
Police were observed searching the home for evidence in footage broadcast on local television.
Billie, who was born in Los Angeles to actress and teacher Maggie Baird and actor Patrick O’Connell and raised in the Highland Park area with her 25-year-old brother Finneas, saw her parents still owning the property, according to public records.
At the 62nd Grammy Awards in 2020, Billie made history as the youngest person to win Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year in the same year. She also secured an Academy Award last year for Best Original Song for “No Time To Die” from the James Bond film of the same name.
